Video Marketing Tip of the Day – Follow Through!

Just because making a video is free and loading it onto a zillion sites also is free, a lot of people underestimate what a well made and followed through video can do for your web site.

Like someone said online, a video is like a gourmet dish to a search engine. Search engines are fed up with loads of content stuffed with keywords, and hence the SERPs of today also feature top results in images and videos for a particular keyword – right on the main search result page. It could be immensely difficult for your site to get to top ranking with a particular keyword, but that task is significantly easier when it comes to ranking on top with a video, as the competition is much lower.  More importantly, people don’t use the real power of videos of today while marketing – following up with insight.

YouTube has a fabulous feature called ‘Insight’, which is available for free on all videos, and is the site’s version of Analytics. You can do loads of things by using that feature right – you can accurately look up the demographics of your viewers, the time they spent on your video, the number of unique viewers (meaning you can also see how many people viewed your videos multiple times), and lots of other things. That should tell you the places where your videos seem popular and the age group which it is able to target effectively. If that is not what you want, you can use that information to go back and redo your videos, so your target your niche better the next time around.

Following through after posting a video is a great thing for another reason – video sites are also social networking places where you can connect with people and be a part of a community. When you see that someone commented on your video, reciprocate. Getting strong in the social space will only bring more viewers to your videos, and that means more leads to work on!
