Jen’s Daily Bread: DON’T LET THE THIEF HAVE IT!

This past weekend I was in Detroit attending the funeral of one of my beloved aunts….my dad’s sister – who passed away, it appears from a heart attack.
We believe in celebrating life…so it was a beautiful and touching service and it was awesome to see so many family members that I have not seen in a long time.
I am starting to realize that my mom’s getting older, my aunts and uncles are getting older, and though I like to think I am getting younger…I’m not! Time truly waits for no one…
The truth is that you MUST decide how your days are going to play out.
I see so many people who engage in truly destructive behaviors – smoking, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, lack of exercise – and their bodies suffer dramatically as a result.
It had me start to meditate on the verse in the bible – John 10:10, where Jesus states
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Life was meant to be lived ABUNDANTLY not in lack, sickness, and limitation.
Therefore it is time to analyze your life….
are the behaviors that you are engaging in stealing, killing and destroying?
Is your lack of exercise stealing your vitality and desire to do the things that you used to enjoy?
Is your smoking slowly killing your body and making it difficult for you and others to breathe?
Is your excessive drinking stealing away opportunities because you are putting yourself and others in harms way?
Do your activities produce a more abundant life?
If they do not..
Change directions.
Meditate.
Pray.
But most importantly, SEEK GOD.
Life is Short. Dream BIG!
